I’m having so much fun with the Pretty and Practical challenge i thought i would do my own month long event. It’s gonna be called Pinterest Party (that takes you to the projects i’m thinking of making) anyway the party will last for the month of february. I’m telling you all now so you can get planning and start pinning!

There will be a points element…

1 point for each task you accomplish that you’ve pinned. Cook it, sew it, crochet it, craft it, print it; I don’t care just if you see it on pinterest and you like it i suggest go create it and give yourself a point for doing so!

But the best part of the month will be my Pin it and Win it contest. The whole month i’ll be running a contest the prize is still to be deteremined and you will see why…. Here is how it will work….If you see something on my blog you like you just need to pin the page. Then at the end of the month i will randomly generate a winner and they will win the prize, it could be something they pinned or it could be something else i have in the works. We’ll see, but i promise whatever it is you’ll love it and really how easy is that, All you have to do is pin what you see here! The more you pin the more chances you’ll have to win!

Baked chicken casserole ( we used crescent rolls instead of bicuts)

and lastly this one wasnt new but i had never made it… its a crusted chicken & black bean casserole. Soooooooooo Good!!

Its January time to jump on all those things we WANT to do this year. Like be nicer, eat healthier, be more balanced, and of course complete projects! With all that ahead of her a sweet friend decided she was going to use the momentum of January and complete some desired tasks in her home. To keep herself going she decided to make a game of it in the month of January and as invited her readers to join her. I’m participating and am no inviting you to join in as well! It’s called Pretty Vs. Practical and this is how it works…

If I accomplish a task that pretties up the house I get a point. +1.
If I accomplish a task that practicals up the home I get a point +1.
If I do a task that both pretties and practicals up the house I get +3.

If I do a task that does either task, and it costs zero money I get +1.

According the game that is 3 points for me. However i’ve decided that since the task has been waiting for like 5 months to get done i deserve an extra point for finally completing it. That’s fair right?

My husband is an artist. A graphic artist, painter, and sketch artist. He made these amazing coloring books for our kids for christmas and i just had to show them off. Each page is a letter and a photo to go with it. They are way cool and the kids loved them! Great Job Hubby!

and While they are coloring away he and i will be busy away sketching in our own sketchbooks trying to finish them up before our January 31st deadline for this year’s sketchbook project. Which goes on tour, and this year will be stopping in LA!

I’ve made a few sleep sacks for baby Ollie, the boys did some lovely paintings for an art show we ended up missing, and i did manage to sew up there PJ pants and Hats for christmas (the only sewing i did this year!)

If you’ve been a follower for a while you know i’m not so great with the yarn, but i try! and i prefer really simple projects (makes it less stressful for me!) So when i stumbled upon this tutorial for a sweet little bonnet hat i just had to try it! Oh do i love it! It was quick to crochet and the end of the result was super cute on. I actually made two last week! They are a bit longer then i’d like so i made do up a third a tad shorter (becuase i like how her’s stops right above her chin).

Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 box red velvet cake (follow ingredients on box)

1 pkg cool whip

1 box cook and serve chocolate pudding

chocolate chips to taste.

Directions:

Cook box of cake according to the box in a rectangular cake pan or baking dish.

While cake is cooling cook up cook and serve pudding and place in fridge to cool (you could sub with instant pudding if you like, either way i suggest letting it cool and thicken either way)

Once all is cooled cut into squares.

Asembly:

First layer is squares of cake, top with chocolate pudding and then cool whip.

Repeat until you reach the top of your Trifle dish ending with cool whip. (for me this was 2 layers)

Garnish the top with cake crumbles and chocolate chips.

ENJOY! It was very yummy!
